They have changed the rail mounts a bit since I purchased mine, and the price has doubled to $12 each.

Re: Easy Solar Panel Mount

Sorry I didn't get around to this until today, but here's the video of the solar panel mount.

Re: Is the sailboat market really this bad?

As Bubs said, the market is really that bad - no doubt about it! One of the reasons is most younger people want things that require little or no work to operate and that go very fast - just the...

Re: A little "direction" on the Y-valve...

On my Y valve, you can only attach a nylon tie when the handle is directed to the tank. I think it's a Jabsco, but I'm not really sure.

All the best,

Re: Dealing with Birds at your Dock

I finally found something that keeps the small birds off my spreaders, mast and boom. It's an osprey wind sock that flits and flutters its wings, looks real and those little birds no longer get...

Re: Cambridge MD Sailnet Rendezvous July 25-26

Colin, The distance from Perryville to Cambridge is just under 100 miles, which precludes me from having sufficient time to sail down. Therefore, my wife and I will drive down on Saturday, and I will...

Re: Oriental to Ocracoke

I sincerely believe that one of the biggest reasons behind the recent shark attacks is commercial exploitation of Atlantic menhaden, a forage species that is the prime food source for just about...

Sal, while that aquifer continues to provide high quality ground water, it, like most aquifers throughout the nation, has been slowly but surely been drawn down below historic levels. Additionally,...

Re: Painting at an auto-body shop

That has been done on powerboats, especially the go-fast types, for many years. They pretty much stopped using those decals of flames and stuff because they tended to peel off after just a few years,...

Re: sounder vs fishfinder

Most of today's fish finders/depth sounders are very high powered, yet draw very low current. As such, there is no longer any need to bore a hole in your fiberglass hull to mount the transducer....

Re: Best boat for 25 grand for coastal cruising and going from east coast to Caribbea

From all the testing results I've read, fiberglass boats will probably outlive steel hulled vessels by a significant margin. And, the test results clearly show that fiberglass hulls really do not...

Re: A very rare sight!!!

Must have been a young Humpback, which would explain the lack of white patches on the tail flukes.

Neat sighting,

Re: 2015 Sailing Season on the Chesapeake

Both the rays and nettles will tolerate salinity levels as low as 4 ppt, but not much lower. Sting rays, however, have been known to tolerate the fresh waters of the Amazon, but I believe this may be...
