Re: mooring / dockspace in Annapolis

We want to be within an easy bike ride of the show.
Renting a car plus gas plus parking is a no go.

Re: Day Docking / Mooring in Annapolis

Short term pick up can be done down ego alley assuming there is room. Call harbormaster to verify, they may have other options.

Re: Overnight Anchoring

We run a cg approved led at the mast top. We also place good solar garden lights at bow, stern and both sides.
Bow light is especially good.
Long days and short nights mean the lights are still on...

Re: Kiwigrip - first experience...

With high humidity, I got no sharp peaks, especially when working under a tarp. When painting in the sun or in lower humidity it was easy to get the sharp peaks.

Working out of the sun made a big...

Re: Help me plan my cruise North!

In the several years I've carried 6 diesel and gasoline jerry jugs, I've barely spilled a few drops of fuel. I regularly fill the diesel tank plus the (gasp) Honda 2k genset and the dink fuel tank on...

Re: Help me plan my cruise North!

3 jerry jugs of fuel is about 75 lbs. On my 32,500 lb boat that makes a BIG difference, eh?

I'd rather have the fuel and not need it than the other way around.

Re: Help me plan my cruise North!

We've done a half dozen coastal hops and had no wind most of the time....

Re: Help me plan my cruise North!

Additional bonus for hitting Port Washington...very close to LIRR into NYC or Laguardia airport. You could leave the boat on a mooring there and fly in and out with relative ease.

Re: Kiwigrip - first experience...

One thing I have to disagree with. I have sent 2 or 3 e-mails asking questions and it took about a week for a response. I asked about tinting and did not hear anything about Benj Moore paint.

Re: Kiwigrip - first experience...

I am using a trowel. And the loopy goopy roller.

Last week the foredeck was wet 12 hours later. Today's work was dry in 1 hour.
Same technique. Only difference was humidity.

You have choices...Head out of Cape May and if its not good the divert to Atlantic City is easy. If conditions...

Best prices for diesel fuel are usually at Utches in Cape May, Sandy Hook, NJ and Point Judith marina inside Point Judith harbor of refuge.

Re: Help me plan my cruise North!

We've done the trip up the jersey shore 4 times. Hardest part is the timing down the Delaware bay out to Cape May. if you can get under the bridges in the Cape May canal it will be much easier. If...

Nobody gettin any?

What a perfect setting for long, slow all day humpin. But if you'd rather varnish, whatever gets you through the night.

Re: Egg Whites--Natural Ant-Fouling for Running Gear

Have they been under weigh since launching or staying in one place?

I can see a static boat getting protection but under weigh regularly for 6 months I would expect the coating to quickly wear off.
