Mostup to date references I can find to Mayday calls (inc. GMDSS procedures) refer to the vessell or persons in grave or imminent danger. I suggest you use Mayday - who is going to argue?

Kept my boat on a mooring buoy for years - best place, no springs and fenders or tricky docking maneuvers. I used chain, shackled and moused to the buoy, with a plastic covered loop in the other end...

I kept my boat on a mooring buoy for years. Best place for it. I suggest you use chain, shackled and moused. You can put a loop in the other end using a shackle and cover the loop in plastic tubing...
