You got a centerboard in that Bristol? If so, you should inspect the cable pendent (connection at the centerboard) and signs of cable wear. Also, check the cable tube for cracks.

Jim, there should be no need to re-align the shaft. You only need to align if you move the engine mounts or replace the cutlas. Recommended that all hoses in contact with raw water should be replaced...

I'm not so sure bleach corrodes SS keel bolts when it dissipates in 24 hrs. And I would never suggest leaving any cleaner sitting in the bilge or bilge water. Stainless Steel does rust when it does...
