Re: Lippincott Question

Wicked - I'm a former L30 owner and agree it's a great boat! Bought and sold mine from Tom Lippincott at Salt Yacht Brokerage in Rock Hall. He'd probably be the best person to ask about the...

Re: What Questions Would You Want Answered?

It would be great to have the insights of someone who has done this recently. I've given a long list of questions I would have. I don't know that any one person can cover them all though.

Re: Volvo Penta MD22L Gear box problems

If I'm reading your post correctly it sounds like you bought an engine with a V-drive transmission. I'm assuming since the MD22L is out of production that it's a remanufactured unit or a running...

Re: Yacht Clubs vs Marinas....which one to join. Are all yacht clubs the same?

No need to be a yacht club member to race. Check out Baltimore City Yacht Association, North Point Sailing Association, and Rock Creek Racing Association for Patapsco racing. All are basically purely...

Re: mooring site / marina on Chesapeake

I would also recommend Oak Harbor. Old Bay Marina and Youngs Boat Yard on Jones Creek are also good no frills places. Probably some of the cheapest rates on the Bay.

Re: Best battery monitor for the buck

Iím dusting off this old thread to give a headís up that Victron is apparently discontinuing the BMV-600s battery monitor and releasing a new 700 series in its place this spring. I found one vendor...

Re: composting toilet-should we do it

We had a composting head for the last three years of owning our previous boat. The premise of sailing around with a tank full of liquefied waste was never very appealing to us so we were delighted to...

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show Observations & Notes

Iím not as down on the mid-level production monohulls, European or otherwise, as many of the posters on this thread. Apparently neither is most of the boat buying public considering their presence at...

Re: first bareboating for a weekend sail from Annapolis to Baltimore

Wow 10-12 is a lot to sleep on even most 43 footers. Just remember the number of people a boat can sleep comfortably is often about half the number the brochure states. With that many people, staying...

Re: Battery & etc opinions...

In that case the two 6V golf carts wouldn't be a bad choice. As others have stated in past threads, it's hard to find a true deep cycle 12V battery while the 6V golf carts are deep cycle. I wouldn't...
