Deck Delamination

I looked and a PSC Orion 27 for sale and it seemed to have a couple of small areas of the foredeck that were delaminating - I could feel (and hear) the fiberglass move slightly when I stood on it....

What is the purpose of swept back spreaders vs those perpendicular to the mast on a rig that still has a backstay?

My longer term plans call for heading south and around into the Sea of Cortez for the season. My question concerns weather or not my current boat, a Capri 26, is suitable or should I look elsewhere?...
