fwiw, its a stove, and likely to be hot, I would find it odd that some one would put their hand on a stove without checking heat first, that goes for putting anything flammable on top of a stove as...

I believe we purchased the regular guage, so far it's worked just fine.

(Edit,) we got the pro gauge, according to my better half it was all they had available when we purchased it.
