I usually use a spray bottle with 50-50 water and Skin So Soft. Not so hot with mosquitoes but great on any gnat type critter like no-see-ums.

Unless I'm more senile than usual, the specs I read on Ameron ABC3 indicate that the red has a higher copper content. You should see the delightful pink color this red has when first applied.
