Chain plate leaks

I am looking to seal the point in the deck where the chain plates come through. I've heard several ideas. What are yours? I sail in the Great Lakes so there is no problem with salt.

Hello all,
I am new to the S2 group. I have an S2 9.2A which I sail mostly on Lake Erie. I've had the boat for 20+ years now. Great boat I have to say.

I had the same thing happen for the same reason....

I had the same thing happen for the same reason. There was enough of the cable end still sticking out to cut some additional threads on and put a different type of knob on that didnt' get bashed up...
