Re: Life raft. Pros and Cons'

There's a difference between discussing whether carrying safety equipment is a good thing and discussing the unintended consequences that can come from carrying it. While in theory a liferaft is a...

Re: Life raft. Pros and Cons'

Actually it's exactly a failure of judgement that is my concern. The statistics on people who have jumped into rafts and had their boat still floating are clear and present, and while sitting here in...

Re: Can I sail to the Bahamas with NO experience?

To be fair, people are acting like he's asking if he could round the horn in a month. The gulf stream is a terrible place to be with a noreaster blowing, but if you wait for a nice gentle 12-15 knot...

Re: Can I sail to the Bahamas with NO experience?

What I would think, if I were you, isn't "Does sailing to the Bahamas sound fun," but "Does owning a boat and sailing on it" sound fun. If it does, borrow a boat to test it and be sure you like it,...

If the war and politics section of a sailing forum is causing problems for the people who want to talk about sailing, why not just remove the war and politics section and let them go talk about it on...

I think that someone with a lot of experience sailing dinghies can grow from having exposure to a keelboat.

I also think that someone with a lot of experience sailing keelboats can grow from...

Thanks
