And they went on a forum for advice from strangers?

This guy is planning to be a liveaboard. You are confusing true sailors with liveaboards.

Re: Ah!quick help. Extender plate under furler?

I'm sorry Scott, that's terrible. I'm glad that you have a new rigger involved. It would be nice to know who has been treating you so badly up until now so that the rest of us can avoid them.

I...

Re: Ah!quick help. Extender plate under furler?

HI, RESPONSES IN CAPS

Ok thanks. It probably isn't the first choice but I'm already too far involved to go back now lol. I HEAR YOU, SAIL WHAT YOU'VE GOT IS A PRETTY GOOD POLICY AND I REALLY...

Re: Battery consumption. It's a mystery.

The experts, arguably including the makers and distributors(G), disagree on how long what battery can sit without being damaged.

Pretty much all of them will agree with if a battery (of any type)...

Re: Battery consumption. It's a mystery.

No, this tells you voltage and current draw when you look, the BMV 600 series tells you over time what you've put in and taken out (not a snap shot in time). So, in a nutshell one is a display, the...

When you mention reinstalling gel cells, do note that gel cells require lower charging voltage than wet lead or agm batteries. Physically installing gel cells is just a wrench job. But...

Re: Ablative vs. Hard Paints....

The way I see it, you have a couple of options:

Determine what kind of paint you have. If it's ablative, pressure wash the dried slime off and launch (assuming you haven't blasted all the paint...

Re: Buying a mooring or slip in California.

Moorings, I believe, are 35, 40, 45, 50, 60 feet and up. I saw a 40' mooring last summer sell for $10k.

Currently they are listed for sale from $15 - $25k depending on the location. ($500/ft...

Re: Where and how much to sell my boat?

You should also specify tall or standard mast. You could handle that by linking to the entry with boat specifications on sailboatdata.com

Re: Where and how much to sell my boat?

Re: Where and how much to sell my boat?

I kept a small boat just inside the Ballard Locks close to Fisherman's Terminal. Back then the rent was 60 bucks a month. Safe and Secure, easy for folks to come look at. The Ranger would be a good...

Re: This is awesome, I'm sailing.

Another option for rocky conditions like that is to use a stern anchor to turn you bow or stern into the waves. Of course this depends allot on the situation, how much room you have, how deep it is,...
