Re: Tansient Docking in the Florida Keys??

South Dade Marina is supposed to be trailer sailor friendly. You can leave your vehicle/trailer there while you cruise (for a fee, don't know if that's normal).

Re: beached, for now

My boat is in a slip on Percy Priest in Hamilton Creek Marina. I'm an hour away from it, don't get up there as much as I'd like.

Re: My Tow vehicle

Have a friend who had a Ranger of roughly that vintage. Last year as he was going through an intersection he was T-boned by a semi that ran the red light, it knocked him across the intersection and...

Re: Wow how plans can change....in my mind at least!

I can vouch for the O'day 23-2. I've never trailered it, and from what I understand it's not the best for trailer sailing, but a couple times a year should be ok. It's a great little weekender. Big...

Re: Does everything need to be on a switch?

The more I look at it the more I know need to redo everything, I just didn't want to get into that yet.

How many of y'all run a radio through a fuse only so you don't lose the clock/station memory...

Re: Does everything need to be on a switch?

No, I'm asking if a 12v outlet and/or radio needs to be on a switch (breaker or fuse/toggle switch) at all. I do like the sub-panel idea.

Maybe I'll just go ahead and change it all out, its 35...

Does everything need to be on a switch?

Do things that have their own switch (or don't need a switch) have to go through a circuit breaker or fuse/switch? I want to add a 12v outlet and stereo on my boat. Does the outlet need to be able...

Re: Voltage drop?

Thanks, all! I've got the Casey book and the Adlard Cole book, just been a while since I've dug them out. Seems like every book I get on a subject there's 5 more recommendations for others, lol.

Re: Incredible hull cleaner, dirt cheap and fast.

I tried the LA cleaner this weekend and it seems to do a good job, but I still get a little better results from a magic eraser, especially now that they have handles for them.

Full disclosure: 1....

Space under gas tank/ice box on 23-2.

Anybody come up with a good way to access or use the space under the tank locker and cooler in the cockpit of an O'day 23-2? I like how most every part of the boat is laid out, just seems like...

Fuse panel vs circuit breakers?

Any considerations or pros/cons of using a fuse panel and switches vs using a circuit breaker panel? I'm looking at redoing my electrical distribution.

Re: Marinas of SE Florida...

If you have to look at 2 hours away, have you thought about putting it in the SW Florida/ Fort Myers area? I believe I was quoted something in the $8-$12 per foot range a couple years ago at Bonita...

Re: Towing and trailer questions.

There's a trailer that's hit craigslist locally that I'm going to look at. It would need a little modification to fit my boat to it, but it's a good enough buy possibly to justify it if it's in good...
