i helped bring a Vagabond 42 from Spain to Antigua in 1990. we ran out of fresh water because the fill was on the port side & the fill hoses for the two tanks were connected close to the port tank....

look up changing cutlass bearing without removing the shaft on the web. tools are available for this or make your own. i don't know if this would work with the bearing in the hull.

fresh water boats do not have the corrosion problems of vessels sailed in salt water. i have a 1994 nimble 30 express with no corrosion problems. i sail on lake superior.
