Re: What does the Centerboard Do...?

Irunburd is totally right. The centerboard doesn't do so much to keep the boat upright as it does to keep you sailing the direction intended. The board itself probably doesn't weigh all that much...

Re: Sailing with a dog

Tim makes some good points. I'd also like to add that since it is a terrier (and may be a high energy dog) you might want to think about getting him good and tired the first couple times you bring...

Re: Bombay Clipper 31 for East Coast & Bahamas?

Well that's good. It is good to be focused especially when it can lead to a sale. Yea that would be pretty terrible if you had jinxed the first voyage with your new motor, even if you didn't have...

Re: Bombay Clipper 31 for East Coast & Bahamas?

Wade, Thanks for the info. You've given me alot to think about. Where I will be sailing primarily the shoal draft would be nice... however the stabiliy and performance of the deep draft is always...

Re: Adding AC outlets to my boat?

Re: Bombay Clipper 31 for East Coast & Bahamas?

What do you have powering her? I've read that the original 15hp motor was a little underpowered.

Do you have the deep draft or shoal draft model? I...

Re: Bombay Clipper 31 for East Coast & Bahamas?

Re: A memorable log book enty

Re: Why are all local outfitters terrible?

I've had pretty good luck with the service people in my area. We have had a good amount of canvas work done and our guy is pretty quick (or at least on time with his estimated finish date) and is...

Re: That sinking feeling

It's not a "dirty" brown. It is probably that color from the trees local to the area. Where I live (in central NJ) most of the fresh water is that color from the cedar trees. Or considering he...

Re: Last Night at the Harvard Club

Wow, sounds like the delivery crew really did a number on her. But at least she is in one piece and you are getting situated aboard. Good luck and I hope your new home comes together nicely!
