Re: what is going on in this pic?

So these days we make them out of carbon fibre, call them sprits, and stick them out in front of the bow to attach even bigger jibs. :)

Re: what is going on in this pic?

Other than the lack of fenders to prevent that nice finish from chafing?

Re: 2013 Was A Great Season!

2013 should have been the best year yet, almost all of the projects got done, some great sails, fabulous neighbours and some really interesting Wednesday nights. Then a freak storm ripped out two...

Re: sail quote

While I agree with Paul about the "local" aspect of the discussion, being 800 miles away from the left coast has it's disadvantages. That said, I have a very large kite, and a drifter from Dirk, who...

Re: Yay! A c27 subforum!

It has been at a couple of the shows and it's on Yachtworld in around the 70k range. It'll probably run circles around the 270, but we'll be much, much more comfortable when it rains. It all depends...

Re: Looking for a Catalina 270 detailed review

Re: Catalina Direct

Last summer we had a "weather event" that ripped two serious moorings out, and through the hand of Mr Murphy, tangled two boats, completely destroying my bow rail, stem and some fittings. CD was, and...

Re: Catalina Direct

There's a place in Point Roberts called TSBShipping. CD can UPS the stuff there, you drive over, pay your tax to bring it back, done. Forget the hidden fees and fake brokerage charges that are little...

Re: Looking for a Catalina 270 detailed review

mmazour,

How did you make out with the 270? We have a Yahoo group Catalina270 and I'm sure you can find somebody there who owns one. Those of us who own 270s are relatively few and far between,...

Re: Beta 20 with Sea Prop 60 Saildrive

Bert,

I read the GOB article. Nice install.

Did you ask around if there's another SeaProp60 within a decent distance that you might actually listen to? That would pretty much tell you if it's...

Re: Looking for a Catalina 270 detailed review

A little late to the party (as usual). We have a 270, 1993, and trailer it. Lots of question on the net about doing this type of thing, and lots of replies from folk.
Lots of Google engineers out...

I connected the cables together, Red to Red, Black to Black and Yellow to Yellow, and immediately the ST40 Wind would display "True Wind" which is an indication that the devices are talking.

Way...

Thanks Mike, I was considering that the YELLOW was the data carrier and that the BLACK was power ground and data common. The way these are mounted in the boat leaves precious little space to start...

Sailingdog,

Yes they do, but the anomaly in the ST40 series is that they have only ONE seatalk plug. My older ST30 had two plugs in the back of the instruments, daisychaining was easy. Raymarine...

ST40 seatalk interface

Hi,

I have an ST40 Bidata and just installed an ST40 Wind. According to the website, you need to have an "E25028 Interface kit" to ties these together. Has anybody tied the Seatalk cables together...
