Re: Preventing smell from bilge

Just a thought, but if there is concern around stainless steel keel bolts, you might try PWB " powdered brewery wash" or similar products. These Are stainless-safe cold water cleaners available at...

Re: iPad, built in GPS or bluetooth GPS

Unless you are planning to carry a sextant (kidding) I would recommend a backup system (stand alone gps). Simple units can be had these days for very little. Just my 2 cents. Depending on where you...

Re: installing a new gas tank for my 28' boat

The one I have was bought second hand, but for a motorboat. I would shop around and look for a good deal, paying to have one fabricated will be pricey.

Good luck with your boat!!! I am waiting...

Re: Spirit 28 owners?

Can someone give me the dimensions of the original fuse panel on our boats? My spirit 28 is stored for the winter, a couple hours drive away, and I am looking to purchase a new fuse panel

Re: Spirit 28 owners?

I have the autohelm st4000.

It works well, of course it can't handle rough seas great, but it's my understanding none can.

Depends on your budget, going used is a risk sometimes.

Re: Underwater Drone

These are actually not that hard to make. There is an international student competition every year

Still, not cheap to build.

Soft deck, a problem or no?

Now that I think of it, the inside is covered with material, would be easy to hide.....

Re: Soft deck, a problem or no?

I am thinking the only place could be around the forward hatch. There are no cracks anywhere in that area,

What do u mean epoxy without solution ?

Thanks

Re: Soft deck, a problem or no?

I would rather not cut up the deck, anytime soon. I have checked everywhere else and can't find soft spots.

I worry about it spreading , and I don't want to sound lazy, but I wonder if the area...

Soft deck, a problem or no?

I have a Glastron spirit 28 (79). I don't have much experience on other sail boats. I noticed this fall, after owning the boat for a season, that a section of the deck is "soft" . However , it's not...

Re: Handheld vhf suggestions

As an additional thought, it's nice to have a floating unit with a flashing led that comes on when it hits the water .... Good if it. ( and/or you) go in the water after dark

Re: Heat Shrink Terminals

My failed connections were usually wire to wire. Many were soldered and electrical taped, some were typical crimped joiners, perhaps not the good ones. And some were soldered and shrink tubed...

Re: Heat Shrink Terminals

For what it's worth here are my two cents.

Firstly, i am having a ton of challenges with the wiring connections made on my boat. Most only date 8 years, but there are many that are corroded...
