i got the spreaders down and replaced with aluminum spreaders. now i need to tune the rig how tight should my stays be the boat is a 33 foot ketch with wood masts

i have a cheoy lee 33 with wooden masts and spreaders one of my spreaders is cracked what is the safest (for the boat) way to get it down to be replaced without being hauled
