I have a Venture 17

and love it! I paid all of $400 for mine, with trailer, and other than the trolling motor, I've put in maybe $150 into it. I might repaint it at somepoint, or I might not! The boat sails well, and...

You will need:

1. a cat

2. a piece of buttered toast

Everyone knows, a cat always lands on it's feet. Everyone also knows that a dropped piece of toast will always land butter side down....

Need ship ident STAT!

Saw the COOLEST boat ever while out sailing today. Ketch rigged, wishbone booms, bowsprit for the jib, and a hull kind of like an old square-rig ship, even down to the raised quarterdeck and rudder...

If your 21' is like my 17'.....

Then it reefs by rolling the main around the boom. There might be a pin on the front of the boom that you can pull, which will allow it to slide back and rotate (not the pin that keeps it attached...

Dont overlook...

The Venture 17. I bought one 2 months ago for $400 w/trailer, and it takes me all of 2 minutes to get the mast up, less if I leave it bolted to the tabernacle.

My suggestion...

If you can find one, is the Venture 17. I paid $400 for mine, magic tilt trailer included, and I'm loving it so far! Displacement is ~800 lbs, so my 4 cyl. S-10 can pull and launch it easily. ...

Hmmm....

Seems to me, that a few changes to the design could probably salve quite a few sailors wounds.

1. Upgraded rigging

2. Added weight to the daggerboard. A 250 lb lead section on the tip would...

How a nation can spout off about it's sovereignty one minute, then claim the reason they're destitute is because we won't play nice with them the next is a larf to me!

Seriously, Canadians can go...

Actually, didn't spend anywhere close to $1500. Got the boat and trailer for $400, and the pictures I posted show the worst examples of the damage I'm looking at. I figured at that price, even if...

Mainenance items on my new-to-me boat

So, the stars aligned and I bought a small sailboat for my wife and I. It's a Venture 17, which although perhaps not the boat of my dreams, is a good compromise design for us, being big enough to...
