T34C rudder flaps

The plastic 3" by 3'+ strips screwed to my T34C skeg covering the rudder hinges and gap between rudder and skeg need replacement. Any recommendation as to sources or approaches?

Sounds like polypropylene or polyethylene stock that you could get from plastics suppliers online.

Many years ago we removed the plastic flaps and put thin flexible metal ones in. we fared them into the skeg (for less drag) and are now able to paint them with VC-17.

They shouldn't be plastic. They should be bronze I believe. Not 100% sure, but I think they are still available thru Tartan parts department.

I bought a T-10 that had most, but not all, of the screws in place. I wondered why the new (to me) boat had water leaking in. If you're going to replace the things, make sure the screws are properly bedded. Frankly, water weeping through the hull was enough to convince me to eliminate the things and 'glass over the end of the skeg.
