Tartan 3000 Identification #

We have a Tartan 3000 moored in our marina that has been here for several years now. I have taken an interest in the boat and am trying to locate the owner to see if he will sell it. The boat does not have TX numbers (not registered) so I need to look it up by the hull number at the parks and wildlife department. In the port lazarette I found the numbers 667530 but that did not correlate with anything at the park department's system. They did tell me that all of the tartans have a 12 digit serial number that looks like: tar#####(letter)#. Does anyone know where this serial number is or anything that could help in identifying the vessel? Thanks! Chris

Looks like the documentation has expired, as there is no owner listed at Office of Science and Technology

My guess it probably an estate boat that's tied up in probate. Best option is to talk to your marina to see if they can send a message to who's paying the slip fees.

Our marina is private and belongs to a sailing school. As for the boat, the information is you pulled is correct. It has been sitting here in a slip off to the side for over 7 years. I don't know what happened to the owner of it. We are trying to get ahold of him to take ownership of the vessel. It may turn out that he can't be located/deceased and the boat was lost along the way. We are now looking into salvage rights to the boat but from what I have found through the internet and talking with a game warden there are none for the state of Texas. The only course of action I see now is to report the boat abandoned. Would the parks and wildlife department then take ownership of the boat and either turn it over to us, the marina, to cover a lien we can file against it for storage or would they send it to auction? I need to call them and see what they have to say about it, but any thoughts you have are appreciated. Thanks, Chris
