Tartan 30 Genoa Track

Has anyone had to remove the genoa track from a Tartan 30? My track was damaged and in the process of "trying" to remove it, it appears to me like many of the screws have broken just above the bolts - which appear to be embedded in the fiberglass.

If you've done this - can you let me know how you went about removing the track, if you had to make any modifications to put in the new track, and then how you went about installing?

one way to remove damaged screws where the head is broken off is to drill a smaller hole into the shank and put a machine screw into it so that you can turn the large screw.
