Tartan /westerbeke raw water pump

My raw waterpump is dripping around the shaft on a W33. I,m in the ICW now and trying to get home but I am wondering if I should keep going or bite the bullet and have it repaired now. Once I get home I will have the time to figure out how to do it myself. From what I've read it can be tricky. I have 300 more miles to go. Thanks in advance.
