Progreso Yucatan, Mexico

I purchased my 37 ft. sloop from a 76 year old man that had been living on his boat for the past 18 moths anchored at the bay in Isla Mujeres Mexico. That is located in the eastern side of the peninsula of Yucatan and a couple of miles of the shore of Cancun. When I said yes to the old man's offer, I said it with only one condition, that he brought the boat with me to Progreso, the port I'm from. Then he said "I don't know where Progreso is, but if you know the way, I'll be glad to come with you". And he did!!
The point to my story, is that I realized, that if a man that had sailed almost every sea, and had been to every corner of the world on a sailboat, and had been living for 18 moths anchored on an island only 200 miles away from Progreso, did not know of the existence of Progreso, no one knows, and therefore, there is no information about it out there. So I decided to put some info out there free for every one to see and hopefully get someone to visit us at this very nice place on the Nautic world. Yucatancruising.com

Hola!
I don't know how old your post is, but thank you for raising Progreso's visibility a bit. Cruisers should also know that we have a nice new pier that was built for the Solidaire du Chocolat transatlantic regatta, and the Malecon has gone through some pretty serious upgrades as well.
