Charter in the Tri-State Area ?

Does anyone know any charter company around New York, Long Island or New Jersey ?
Where would you recommend to sail ?
I heard that Cape Cod and Nantucket are very beautiful.

There are a bunch of sailboat charter places on the CT shore. Suggest you google: 'sailboat charters in Connecticut'.
Also, Oyster Bay has some sailboat rentals and charters.

Any of the islands out there are destinations for sailors in the season (Block, Cuttyhunk etc.) as is the Peconic Bay area.

If you are interested in Cape Cod and Nantucket, which are beautiful, I would charter out of Newport, RI. The sail from NJ would take a day or two, just to get out to the New England islands. From Newport, you can also access Martha's Vineyard, Buzzards Bay and, of course, Narraganset Bay where Newport is located.

The sailing school in Port Washington has J24s, and the New York Sailing School in New Rochelle (Echo Bay) has an older Beneteau Oceanis 390 for charter. Port Sailing School, Learn to Sail, New York and New York Sailing School

There's also a Cape Dory 33 available up the Sakonnet River (upriver from Newport and on the other side) from Standish Boat Yard in Tiverton, RI.

There are also several charter operators on the Connecticut shore of Long Island Sound as well, but I haven't had experience with them, while as part of learning to sail I've sailed with all three of the above.
