DIY Boatyards

Does anyone know of any DIY boatyards in the Greater NYC area (South Amboy to Larchmont)?

Thanks,
Ryan

If it is convenient for you I would try Viking boat yard in Verplank NY. about 35 miles north of the city on the Hudson. They don't mind people working on their boats and the owners are some of the nicest people you will find in the boating business.

Most yards will let you work on your boat with the exception of bottom sanding and painting. Finding yards that will let you work on your bottom is getting very difficult. That said, I have been told by friends that store there that Brewers in Glen Cove has that policy in the storage contract but they don't enforce it.

Morgan Marina in Sayerville (or Parlin), NJ has no restrictions, so far, except that you can't powerwash the antifouling. They let select outside contractors work there as well.
