As a suggestion for location, the HERRESHOFF Museum in Bristol has moorings at a reasonable cost, and I believe that it would be a good experience for anyone that has not been there. Herreshoff Marine Museum & America's Cup Hall of Fame
Not to disrespect the Bristol Ct. concept, but dropping anchor off of Chappaquiddick is free.

And it would add another 100 miles to the cruise from Boston, and points North, to get there.

Artcliff Diner is a must, the chef is a good friend of ours, the food is fantastic, but be prepared to wait in line

T37Chef, will you be in line there on the 27th?? :-)

So far it looks like we have me, Billsull, and possibly eherlihy making plans to meet on 7/27/2013 at Edgartown / Chappaquiddick !

He means Bristol RI which is right across Narraganset Bay from me. I was waiting to see what date you guys would come up with. We will be on vacation (my wife vaca weeks as a Nurse are chiseled in stone months in advance) the week before and probably in MV. Oh well, my wife is not the get together type any way.
Enjoy !!

Sorry you can't make it.

Thank you for clearing up which State he meant. But, Bristol RI is still another 50 miles or 1/2 day to get to from points North, with a number of hours getting up that channel.

Re: Summer 2013 New England SailNet Rendezvous

I just saw this thread, and am looking for an excuse to get to Nantuckett for a couple days. It's right next door, so a get-together in MV would be great.

I still have to check the date and factor in kids activities.

Regards,
Brad

Re: Summer 2013 New England SailNet Rendezvous

We'll try to make it for the 27th in Katama Bay/Edgartown. About what part of the bay were you thinking of anchoring? Obviously weather related but we found that the southwest corner (edgartown side) worked well since it is not too far from a small beach/launch area and road; making it easy for those that sail with dogs. At some point I can post the lat/long. of the general area I am talking about.

Wonderful! Looking forward to the cruise there, and meeting you!

The normal / most often utilized anchorage is in the vicinity of:

41 degrees 23.332'N 070 degrees 30.257'W

Which is just NE of the western corner of Chappaquiddick Point. We use our dinghy from there, and tie up at the City Dock.
