Any experience in Okinawa/Ryukyu Islands

Well, I am going to be stationed in Japan for the next few years and will be sailing out of Kadena and Naha. Just wondering if anyone has Japanese Island sailing experience. That includes on the Ryukyu chain, as I don't plan on being up north by main land Japan.
