Westsail the World...

We all love our own boats, for the most part... but the Westsail crowd seem more passionate than most when it comes to loyalty.

For the two or three of you that may not know what Westsails are, here's the most popular model, the W 32. Other sizes and models were produced as well, but this is probably the most venerable and easily recognized Westsail out there.(image from sailboatdata.com)

Westail owners, this forum has been created for you, time to show off a bit!

Thank you! I think many of us Westsail owners feel that this is long overdue and it is greatly appreciated.

The correct term is "Westsail the world"

Re: Westsail the World...

I've only been sailing on one once, and there was no wind so it was more of a drift, but every time I'm on one it just feels good.
Here are a couple of pics a friend of mine sent me of his W-32.

Wow that interior is different from any W32 I've seen, especially the fiberglass liner. What year?

I believe that it's a W28, rather than a W32.

Re: Westsail the World...

I must say one of my favorite boats is the WestSail 39, but there weren't many made. Also available as a Fair Weather Mariner 39.

As a Perry design that pretty much takes it out of the Westsail stable btw - I didn't know it had been marketed as a Westsail 39.

Re: Westsail the World...

Hello folks , yes that galley shot is of a W28 lil o'l Patricia A #72 out of 78 . Some more info on the W39, Westsail Corp. hired Mr. B. Perry to design the W39 back in the late 70's . Westsail made only a few then went Tango Unicorn and sold the molds. You can tell the ones made by Westsail because they have a W molded into the bow. Here are some more shots of Patricia A .
