My wife just said this to me: "We need to fluff the spinnaker."

Me: "Huh?"

Her: "The cat has been using it as a cat bed, but it's starting to look matted down. I think we need to fluff it."

I think she was being genuine, although maybe this is her subtle way of telling me to get the sails out of the bedroom....

Dude, if she's noticing sail shape in any form - just roll with it. Say, "Wow, I hadn't noticed. Good catch."

 

I know, right? It's almost like she's taking an interest in sailing!

She's always enjoyed the post-sail cocktails, but this is the first time she's commented on sail shape.

 

That's funny. I can so relate with her. I'm always giving the boat parts new names... The captain just smiles and goes with it. I love him

 

Its better to luff the spinnaker than to fly the cat...

 

and if you think cats really hate getting baths....

 

If our Landseer slept on our spinnaker I would be saying, Honey, we need a new spinnaker. Fluffing it just wouldn't cut it.

 

As long as she knows what "fluffing" is, you're in good shape.

 

I guess the cat's out of the bag then?

 

Maybe that's her way of telling she needs to go sailing this Christmas.

ME: "Well, okay, but the sailmaker says to do that properly takes at least 5 hours sailing in temperatures above 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Guess we'd better head for the Florida Keys."

You can't fluff a spinnaker, once they have been packed down they are done! You'd better order a new one!

I can't say that I can blame the cat, they do make comfy beds in a pinch!

 

Isn't that a bit cruel ? Poor *****. (oh for heavens sake .... "cat" then.)

I advise anyone that fluffs their sails to be up wind of the sail fluffer

We are ALL older than 12 yrs.......In fact, I am 13 b-days old! some just say I am 52 or there abouts old, but in reality, I am only 13!!!!!! so please, use the correct age for me.

The truth is, most of us guys, kind of quit growing up mentally, at about 12. We just try to hide it most of the time.

 

Speak for yourself, Fuzzy and I do not follow those rules............nor do folks listening and going by beach boy songs etc.........
