5'2" draft BU makes this boat ideal for gunkholing. The tradeoff is a bit of leeway and slightly less pointing ability than the deep keel model in heavier breeze- she benefits from reefing early- both in comfort and speed. Also keep weight out of the ends, especially the bow.

Strong standing rigging (rod) and all lines led aft except outhaul.

Older Datamarine electronics function well but cannot be repaired. Deep six the standard issue micrologic Loran and replace with a good GPS/Chartplotter at the helm. Comfortable aft-facing Nav station with plenty of room for VHF, SSB, 2nd Chartplotter display, etc. on stbd. side.

Westerbeke diesel has good access, esp. in aft cabin.

Galley is functional with 12V Adler Barbour refrigeration and small integrated icebox.- could be larger for extended cruinsing if offshore. CNG tanks for stove have not proved to be a problem filling but could be an issue outside the US.

Boat can readily be singlehanded with a little forethought. Properly trimmed and not overcanvassed, she will track straight hands-off in steady breeze. Overall, a great couples boat for cruising where one doesn't need all the extras- Generator, A/C, etc. With so much storage, avoid tendency to overload her.
