Bad idea to store it with the mast up, down there. Mast up adds quite a bit of windage, and leads to domino like effects in strong winds... which is bad.

Is your mast a deck-stepped mast? On most 25' boats, it usually is. If so, I would instead rig an A-Frame type mast raising jig, that would let you step and unstep your mast relatively quickly and safely, without the need for the yard to do so.
