Re: Repowering- What to do with Old Engine?
There was about 5K in cost for an expert shipwright and he was worth every penny. I did all the prep work to pull out the old engine and get ready for the new one. I installed a new Racor 500, and also re-formatted a lot of plumbing and wiring in that part of the boat.
Thanks for that.
So all in it looks like something between 15 and 20k plus a lot of work plus the fuel tanks from before?
I'll bet the difference in how it feels is substantial. I hear that those engines are really smooth.
The lesson from the Icarus story is not about human failing.
It is a lesson about the limitations of wax as an adhesive.
If you have an engineering problem solve it.
