White smoke would be steam and suggests a cooling problem. Maybe needs acid run through it's cooling passages for a few hours or the exchanger cleaned, if it has one. New $20 thermostat maybe.

If this did the trick on the smoke and she still runs, I would think a boat buck or more was doable. I suspect it wouldn't be in high demand and the bigger issue is storage (and continued decay) until it sold.

What is your yard telling you will happen to the old motor.
