We've found that's true, carved in stone, and the vast majority of boats anywhere in LI Sound will tell you the same thing. Either you clean AT LEAST monthly, or you're going to have a putting green and mollusk ranch down there.
Haven't ever met Sea Hawk, but they're just telling the ugly truth on that. IF you're lucky enough to keep a boat in sterile water, or water that's too toxic to support life, or water that has a continuous fast current, or to be sailing it all day most every day...then maybe you can get away without cleaning.
As to coppercoat...the ultimate judge is the marketplace. After 40+ years they're claiming only 1000 installations per year--globally.
