Re: 2019 Sailing Season on the Chesapeake

Tomorrow calling it a wrap on our 2019 sailing season. Freeze warnings at home tonight and my impending knee replacement in a week make it the prudent thing to do.

2019 saw Haleakula log 3,112 miles under her keel.
-
23 days in the LI Sound including Mystic , Newport, Block , Olde Saybrooke, Port Jefferson, Northport, Port Washington, Atlantic Highlands, Barnegat, Cape May, Reedy Island.

- 12 Day Chessie trip in the fall including Dunn Cove, San Domingo , Town Creek, Leeds Creek, La Trappe Creek, Solomon’s, Deale, CorsicA, , Chestertown , and Rock Hall

Visited Rhode, west, Boby Owl, Cacaway a few times, Eagles nest, Hopkins Creek, Clements Creek, Mill Creek
Little Choptank, Wye a number of times, St Micheals

Not too bad for a weekend / coastal sailor....probably as many miles as some of our cruising buddies.

We had a great season. Only real calamity was an alternator belt breaking headed out of Barnegat Inlet. Great Weather almost all year.

No major projects this winter except restraining hatch boards, reinforcing sail cover, replacing wash down pump.
