you are missing my point. It appears that if the boat spends one year in a state, then a year out of that state repeat... tax is continually being assessed? Or... once it is paid to that state your good to go forever in that state... but will pay tax in other states... where the boat spends threshold time.
Conn, seems pretty complicated. I think You'll really need to get the info from the horse's mouth.
There's lots of different type of taxes.
I can't see that Conn. can charge you " Sales" tax for a vessel that you Purchased in 1985 and paid sales tax on in NY? And have owned continuously. I'm sure it will be help your case if you still have those documents.
The question then would seem to be registration requirements, and possible " Use" tax or personal property tax or whatever they might call it.
If you're just storing it there from Oct. to May? this document might apply. Item # 17 might be of interest?
