my boat has an outboard backup. the only real issue i would see aside from the possible custom work needed to mount it to the back is that youll need a long shaft for the boat, and short shaft is more suitable for a dinghy.
the outboard is an 8hp and the inboard diesel is a 7.5 hp. ive never pushed the outboard as hard as it can go, i make about 5-6 knots at just less than half throttle.
