My S&S34 had the original acetal plastic sheaves since she was built in 1978. She has circumnavigated and has sailed probably 60k miles during the last 40 years. I just replaced the original sheaves with ronstan acetal. The old sheaves were still working, but had a few hairline cracks. I am sure there are some better custom made sheaves, but I wanted off the shelf to make things easier.
