My admiral enjoyed sailing when we had our first boat - 23' Sovereign - back in the early 1980s. We daysailed on Galveston bay and enjoyed overnighting at the slip. However once we had our first child she was no longer comfortable with it - completely independent of whether the baby was with us or not. Kind of an overriding maternal instinct kind of thing. Now kids are all grown up and I bought a boat again this past year. She is slowly, operative word being slowly, warming up to sailing again. No real bad experiences the first time, unless you count the incident in which we very nearly broached in a sudden summer squall while the in-laws were aboard.
