Re: New Novel from Christian Williams

Iíll pass. So many histories and historical novels to read that help me understand why we are where we are today. Need to get through them first before learning about an egocentric self indulgent. Apologize knowing you probably have a great story to tell and did it well but just not my thing. Good vid though. Best of luck.

I know the island exists in the Cook Islands. Is the character real or fictional? I didn't have the audio on, when I ran the vid.

Jeanneau 54DS

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

Very nice video! Hope the book is on all the best-seller lists. The island is beautiful--I want to go.

Minne,

Thanks. "Rarotonga" is fiction. There are few novels these days in which the main character is on a 60-foot sailing yacht far offshore. "Dead Calm" by Charlie Williams (no relation) comes to mind. We had the same agent long ago.
SailorMikeS and Minnewaska like this.

Re: New Novel from Christian Williams

Christian,

A about four yeas ago a friend gave me your "Alone Together" book. I just placed it on my bookshelf and forgot about it. About two years later, the book on the shelf eventually found me. I finally started to read it and it was excellent.

Your book was actually the inspiration for me to purchase a boat and plan a similar single handed trip to Hawaii and beyond. Right now, I'm working on building my skills (and courage) single handed sailing around the Puget Sound. The next stage is to break away from the confines of the Sound, sail down the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and sail to Hawaii. That will be in the next two years.

Thanks for the great book and inspiration. I look forward to reading your new novel.
