Interstingly enough, I too am looking for a surveyor in rock hall area. Im hoping i can get a very basic survey done to check the structural integrety of a cal 28 at "the wharf at Handys point".
There is some rotten wood around the bulkhead where the chainplate attaches too; im prepared to fix that, but i want to see if theres anything else i need to worry about before i can sail her.
I was hoping to not spend more then 200$, but after a quick google search I see a full inspection will be around 450$ for that size boat, thats really pushing it since the boat is only for 2k and my max budget after repairs is 2.5k.
If you find someone willing to just come out for .5-1 hr please let me know!
Also, interestingly enough, the guy selling the boat, his name is David too, but he says hes in NJ, not Connecticut.. Is that you Dave? Its Chris lol
EDIT: ive been able to find someone to look at the boat, hes offered to, "check the boat out structurally (the decks, bulkheads, and rigging from the deck). I can do that and an informal report for $250." He is a SAMS surveyor, check him out here: http://www.yachtexam.com/
his name is Kyle
