Do not dismiss those of us who are suggesting a bit of performance over creature comfort. Sailing is the point of a sail boat after all... ;-)

The Bene 281 is an interesting boat, if you can find one in the US and from what I saw you currently cannot.

I bet if you opened up your search a bit you could find a very nice boat for your budget. If you choose not to, no worries man, I hope you find a great boat!

Later Parson 28 is really nice too. I like the layout with the v-birth replaced with seating.
