Niagara 26 - cored or solid hull?

Was the Niagara 26 built with a cored or solid hull?

Don't know, but you can tell if you look at the interior of the full. You can see where the cored and non-cored parts of the hull meet, for example near thru-hulls.

After the refit we have decided to sell Ainia. We want something smaller that would be could for the light summer winds of Lake Ontario, although we plan to spend at least a couple of winters in the Caribbean before heading north.

I've only surveyed one 26'. The topsides from the waterline up were balsa cored. Bottom was solid glass.

The hysterical laughter you hear as you drive a way in your"new" boat ..... is the seller.

Thanks all. The boat was quite neglected, so I decided not to pursue it.

Really well built and well designed boats. For Hinterhoeller it was a full-on cruising version of his Shark 24. Just a lot roomier.
We sailed one a lot - racing and cruising - for a decade.
Fast and comfortable. Matter of fact our former boat is for sale now in PDX.
Easy to single hand, as well.
The hulls are all solid layup and the hull-to-deck joint is a thru-bolted overlap. No leaks. The lead keel is bolted onto a substantial reinforcement in the molded in sump. The transom mounted rudder is semi balanced and the boat drives to weather with a feather touch.
If the wind dies it will motor all day @ 6 kts with a ten hp Yamaha OB. Burns 1/2 gallon / hour.
