Oh yeah.... I am sure. A boat could be a serious chick magnet. And the lizards you are referring to actually turn me off. Ewe. I was just talking about this yesterday as a matter of fact. Usually an expensive car means your in debt and you then have less money to spend on me! I prefer guys with cars that are paid for. Lol!

Re: Recommendation for 16-20' Racer/Cruiser

So bringing back up an old thread here but Ive got it down to 2 boats, both of which are available to buy.

The Topper Topaz Argo or a Vanguard Nomad.

Topaz is 11.5k all told, Nomad is an 09 at 10.5k but is quite the drive away (about 1100 miles).

I realize they are two different styles of boat, but has anyone sailed the Argo before? Are you able to turn it into a 'cruiser' like they advertise and put 4 college age (sized) people on it? I really like the idea of being able to entertain up to six folks on the Nomad (please correct me if that number is too high), but I want to work on my sailing technique and be a better sailor. I think dinghy sailing is the best route for that. Plus, they go crazy fast and would challenge me on my performance. I dont know how I feel about needing a drysuit to sail during the cold months either, do you always get wet on the Topaz? I like the cruiser lifestyle but want the performance of the topper.

Any thoughts on the matter are appreciated!!

I would go with the Nomad all day every day and twice on Sunday's.

Seems like either boat would be fine on a lake, and I see them sailing in front of Havre de Grace, MD all the time during the Friday Night Races. Too small for this old codger, though.

Good luck,
