Cutlass replacement on B30 / B29 rudder

Anyone do this? Do I have to remove the shoe to drop the rudder?
I read on bristol29.com that you can go full port turn and lift + drop the rudder without removing the shoe. That would save me so much time.

Painting deck will be done this upcoming week, would be nice if I can get that finished the week after so I can launch!

I have not heard for that setup on a B29. Sounds too easy. You should be able to remove the shoe pin and slide the rudder by the shoe.
