Hello, I recently inherited a 88 C&C 30 (I think) - I’m wondering how I can find out the specs on this vessel with the Official Number? Where or who should I call? My father loved this boat and sadly I know nothing about it. Hoping someone can help me figure it out.

You can check the specs at https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/cc-30-1-1-506. You can also to a web search on “C&C 30” and you will get lots of info.

Re: 1988 C&C 30 - help identify

Post #2 does not reference the correct version of the C&C 30. It references a C&C 30 mark 1. If your boat was built in 1988, it's C&C 30 mark 2 version. It's a completely different boat from the mark 1. The 30 mark 1 was not built after 1982. Here's a link to the boat you probably have. https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/cc-30-2 There's lots of information on the www.cncphotoalbum.com site about both models.

You mention "Official Number", is that an American or Canadian number ?

The hysterical laughter you hear as you drive a way in your"new" boat ..... is the seller.

What are you trying to figure out? Are you selling it? Getting into sailing? CNCphotoalbum.com then join the email list and ask questions there... many people will jump at the chance to help out.

All good advice above. The C&C forum has all the info and specs you need.

C&C Yachts - C&C Photo Album & Resource Center
and facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/341181792745950/
the Cuthbertson family monitors the page, can't really beat that.

1988 implies Mark II as was said.
post your questions on the FB page, you'll get responses in minutes.
Wealth of knowledge there.

The HIN will tell you a lot about the boat, if you have it post it here and on the FB page.

BTW:

Hull Serial Number (HIN)
The Hull Serial Number (HIN) is a unique, 12-digit number assigned to a pleasure craft that is constructed, manufactured, rebuilt, or imported to be sold or operated in Canada. The requirements for the HIN are included in the Small Vessel Regulations.

The HIN must be located:

Where it is clearly visible when the boat is in the water and…
On the outside starboard (right) side of the transom. If the boat does not have a transom, the HIN must be displayed on the right side at the rear of the hull.

True, they are quite good performers. We have battled one for years on the rececourse and just recently becoming competitive with our CS30.
