It is embedded/flush with the transom. If you order the swim platform, it is installed in the swim platform.

Re: Catalina 425

After 6+ months of searching different sailboats, we purchased the Catalina 425, and have now sailed the Bay of Galveston 9 times acquainting ourselves with the boat. It happened to have the 1st swim platform installed from what was shared. It's definitely a family favorite, and adults also drag their feet under sail.

Nice. I have Hull #19. The swim platform was not yet available when I purchased my Catalina 425. Enjoy her.
