Re: 2018 Sailing Season on the Chesapeake

The mast wiring is completely finished! 3 hot wires, one common ground, and a 4-prong plug installed. AND - everything works! Now time for new nav lights, interior wiring, and the other half of the thru-deck fitting for the mast. I can't wait to get out on the water!

Oh - and I got a 2018 Maryland Parks pass, which includes boat ramp fees! Sandy Point State Park, here I come

Choose your ramps carefully. While you are correct that Sandy Point State Park is covered by this pass, county-owned ramps generally require a different pass. I'll likely be buying a pass to Kent County's 30 ramps this summer. Last summer was the first on in over 30 years that we did NOT waterski, and we're hoping to get back to that again this summer on our small motorboat. Trailer hitch install (on our new car) is scheduled for this Thursday, so we're working toward that goal.

Rez,
Been a while since you and the Mrs. visited Manhattan. I am heartened to hear that you are fixing up the Windrose 22' that Chris/clip68 gave you and that you two will finally be able to explore parts of the Chesapeake on her. A nice excuse for a road trip out of W Va.
Hope all is well.

No. Now! This was a few days ago, perhaps the first day the ice would let me out (Herring Bay).

Re: 2018 Sailing Season on the Chesapeake

I am *still* varnishing. I have at least started on the next two pieces. I'll have them finished this week and I'll install the whole mess late this week or this weekend.
At least the varnish is looking pretty good.

Still to do:
- Must order quarter round teak trim from Jamestown Distributors. I'll need to cut, varnish and attach that.
- Must purchase a half-sheet of 1/4" teak and holly faced ply to replace the small, trapezoidal section under the companionway ladder. This should be much more straightforward- template, cut, varnish and glue down.

The good news, is that the trim and companionway work will not keep me from sailing if the opportunity arises. I just need to get the main sole back in.

LMAO! What are you installing it in? Did you build your own dessicating toilet or is this being installed in a C-head?
