Re: Annapolis Boat Show October!

Didnít see what you mean, but is that the Sena Bluetooth headsets? We have them for the rarest occasions. Never need them for anchoring or picking up a mooring. In fact, I tried them for that once and my wife just kept yelling and getting frustrated though them. It was awful. Like them for when I go up the mast, or when I need someone to turn the ignition or throttle at the helm, while Iím below.

We bought them. They were $320 at the show, vs Defender sale $340. Plus they gave you a storage bag. Tried them out at the show and they worked well.

I didn't see any AIS deals. Defender has the Vesper on sale thru the 15th. That's what I had on last boat, and will be doing it again on next boat. I did talk to another AIS vendor that bragged they were better than vesper because their AIS updated every five seconds instead of vesper 30 sec (I think that's frequency). Only after more investigation to find out that 5 sec update only if traveling over 14 knots speed. Not likely for sailboat, or at least mine. That was pretty misleading.

That's interesting. I thought Sunday was busier than Saturday.

Went on Sunday. Was surprised how uncrowded it was. Met a few friends there. Outbound , I think 46/47 was my favorite boat. I need to hit the lottery though.

Looked at new stoves .

I heard on the news someone tried to break into. sailboat and steal it.
The getaway would be painfully slow...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Went today. It was like a ghost town. Have never seen the show so empty even during times the economy was in the toilet. Don’t know if it was the unseasonably hot weather or if there’s something deeper to read into it about the economy and/or the state of sailing.

If any theme emerged its that the rumors of the death of the monohull have been greatly exaggerated.

Bought a B&G VHF and wireless remote mic. West Marine had an amazing price. West was one of the few vendors showing up with any real deals. Also bought some fender covers and got a replacement line for my Garhauer outboard crane.

Re: Annapolis Boat Show October!

I think it was light because it was day FIVE of the show. The dealers I know were in take down mode today. I think people with jobs were in go-home mode today. OTOH, I was shocked by how busy Thur was.

I often go on Monday and this is by far the least crowded Monday I remember seeing.
