Agree! Was there for a day trip with my family looking at a marina. Glad to see so much life off season.

Not sure what you mean by off season.
September / October are some of the finest sailing months on the Chesapeake.
There were a few hundred sailoats out today off Annapolis and many anchorages were full last night.

Offseason because traffic in Rock Hall drops off precipitously after Labor Day. Many businesses shorten their hours. Sailors are a small fraction of their business, and the most thrifty to boot.

New to the sailing community and quickly realizing that fact! We spent our summers in South Jersey and we are used to considering anything outside of Memorial Day through Labor Day to be off season.

Might be true but not relevant. of course this is Sailnet, a sailors forum and he is a sailor.

Actually I disagree that the sailing community impacts RH marginally as you imply.

My father kept his sailboat boat there. Over 40 years ago and the town was very rinky dink . It has seen a revival with the mega Marinas like you keep your boat in . I think the sailing community has had and continues to fuel
Growth there. It used to be a pretty depressing place. I wonder how much property values have increased and how many jobs are because of the marina industry there.

Aside from Annapolis, Solomon’s, and Baltimore I’ll bet Rock Hall has the next largest sailboat community.north of Norfolk on the Chessie.

Also unlike S Jersey many slip contracts here are year round and you don’t have to pull your boat out in the off season
